Tis the Season.

Well, I guess Vegas had his fill of love the Monday night because last night he just hung out while I was working on my cards.

I manage to conjure up one design for my Christmas cards this year. I usually do 25 of 3 or 4 different cards depending on our card list. This card was inspired by Nichole over at PaperTrey Ink. I loved the use of Cool Caribbean. I used Cotton White Stazon Opaque to stamp the acetate and Whisper White SU! Craft for the Snowflake. The Stazon dries real quick. The Whisper White has to be set aside for a few minutes before you handle it. I used Large Scalloped and Classic Square Nestabilities to cut and emboss the cardfront. I matted the squares so the sentiment was hidden by the front.

Christmas Card 1

Card interior:
White layer: 3.25″ x 3.25″
Caribbean layer: 3.5″ x 3.5″
Blue Metallic layer: 4″ x 4″

I stamped the sentiment in Cool Caribbean and Soft Sky but forgot to take a picture! DOH! Here is the card when it’s laid flat. I’m not sure if I should stamp the flourishes on the top layer or stamp them on the back layer. It would be less busy on the back I think.

[…] I was cutting more paper for this Christmas card last night. I fell into shock. I used the last of my Cool Caribbean cardstock. It’s gone. All of it. I even had to modify the design a little for the last three cards so I could squeeze enough embossed squares out of the paper for the front of the card. I don’t have even one itty-bitty scrap left. Wow. RIP Cool Caribbean. […]

[…] Last night, I battled with my Snowflake Christmas cards. You know, the one in which I managed to use every last bit of Cool Caribbean I had left. The ink pad is pretty much dead now too. Just as well. They took so long to finish. Next year I don’t think I will be as ambitious. […]
