christmas greetings.

Wow! Less than three weeks until Christmas. I have definitely over extended myself again this season. I hope to catch up a little tonight. I ran one of my final long training runs yesterday with my sister. We finished the 20 miler despite the cold and the wind. I only had the motivation to mock-up one card. I needed to do more. I still haven’t decided on the final christmas card I want to do. This one didn’t make the cut. It’s just too time consuming with all the coloring.

snowy mailbox greetings.

I used Papertrey Ink Mailbox Greetings and Polka Dot Basics for this card. The card was fun to make but just a little too laborious for mass production. I digress.

close-up!

I also have a request for any PTI fans out there. If you have been successful stamping detail images or sentiments with your new PTI pigment inks, please share your secrets with me. I’ve tried tapping lightly, removing ink from the pad, and even just setting down the stamp on the pad gently to get just enough ink but I still get excess ink on the edges of the stamp. So,  please let me know if and how you’ve had success. I fear that I may have to give up PTI inks in the future!!!! Thanks a million in advance…

    Hi Lauren,

Ack… 3 weeks huh? Crazy how quickly the time goes. Very cute card, but yes, very time consuming for “the one”. I haven’t figured out what I’m sending out this year yet either.

Oooh I hear you - I’m still not there yet. I love this though, but I can see the time in it.

Great card, but I agree that the mass production of this could run past your goal date for mailing.
Good luck with your ink crisis.

Try VersaFine pads. I find it best for detail and tiny sentiments. Actually I’ve stopped using other inks and sent my Palette pads and reinkers back to Stewart Superior. Not that they refunded…..some weren’t even opened. But I thought I might be helping them sort for the problem.

Bad ink is my biggest stamping problem by far. Even Versafine’s reinkers are quite watery, and they only have Sepia and Black reinkers.

    good luck!
