back to reality.

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I guess for me to return, you have had to know that I was gone. :) I was back in Walt Disney World this past weekend running the Disney Princess Half Marathon. It was a blast. But before I get too into that I have to finish my January Race Reports. I am going to show a drive-by card and some t-shirts today. WOOT!

heart card.

This card was made using some scrap K&Co. paper I had along with some leftover felt. I loved the layout of the other card so much I altered the color scheme to keep going with it. The heart was cut with my Cuttlebug die and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Handwritten Notes.

family shirts.

My friend Katie’s parents are the most generous parents I know. They are always there for us whether it’s volunteering at a race, cheering us on on the course or championing us at the finish line. I wanted some way to repay them for all they do. So, I broke out the yudu and made the whole family shirts. I used the Yudu silver metallic ink to give the girlie shirts some sparkle. The Godfather’s shirt was screen in hand mixed gray with Permaset Aqua Jet Black ink for the ears. They were fun to make and I will post close-ups of each shirt soon. :)

officially gone goofy.

I apologize for another shirt post but this is the shirt I made for completing the Walt Disney World Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge. I always manage to spend more money than I care to on race merchandise to celebrate my accomplishments. After getting a sneak peek at some of the merchandise, I knew that I wanted to do my own “I did it.” shirt so I could save money money for other things. I ended up purchasing a zip up racing jacket, a long sleeve Goofy t-shirt and a hooded sweatshirt.

gone goofy shirt.

I use my Yudu to make the shirt. I created a two color registration in Photoshop and then burnt two screens. One screen was for the green you see in the Goofy hat, the other was for the black outline and text. I used Yudu green ink for the hat and Permaset Aqua Jet Black for the text.

I burnt a third screen for the back. I tried to come up with something personal that I would be proud and acknowledge that we finished the unofficial “Dopey” by doing the 5K in addition to the half and full marathons.

back of shirt.

I just started working on art for the shirt I am planning for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I also have a few Valentine’s projects up my sleeve with Christmas stuff that I have to post. It’s all got my creative wheels turning. :)

one more.

I have one more t-shirt to share before I start my Christmas parade. I really am having a blast with all my Christmas stuff this year. My finished t-shirt pile is growing and, for this time of the season, feel a huge sense of accomplishment. I have concepted all my Christmas cards and must start mass production this weekend. I’m a little behind on where I would like to be right now but I’m not feeling like the walls are closing in just yet.

butt fast shirt.

I made a couple of these for my girlies who will be running the Disney Half in January. I really like the way they came out. I ended up using yudu ink for these shirts and thought they came out great.

There are a few “ChEAR” squad shirts that I have to work on. I printed up the designs last night but haven’t burned the screens yet. It’s a good project to do while you are paper crafting because there is alot of dry time where you have to hurry up then wait. So, this weekend I will be busy slaving over my yudu and Cricut, and putting in a 20 miler. I’m so excited!!!  This weekend is going to be productive!!! I hope everyone else is feeling just a charged up by the holidays.

tee time.

This weekend was very productive. I would like to thank the pilgrims for landing in my hometown so that I may have a nice long weekend. I really enjoyed it but didn’t get a run in down by the Plymouth Rock and Mayflower II. It was really rainy. BOOOO!

I started this post yesterday but never had a chance to finish it. This weekend was filled with yudu fun. I managed to screen five t-shirts for holiday gifts over the weekend. I was psyched. In addition, I screened a shirt for myself.

happy pace shirt.

I loved the saying “find your happy pace.” I had to put in on a shirt to run in. Now I just have to buy a grey Under Cold Gear mock to go underneath it for the winter weather that’s heading our way.

I am getting really ambitious with some of my designs. This one took a bit of fuss to get it just right but I ended up being really happy with the results. I love having one of a kind things. :)

another shirt!

Ok, I have this shirt to post today. But the rest of the week will be Halloween paper crafts that I have been working on. :) I made this shirt for my niece who will receive a little sister within the next month. I thought it was fun and a cute way for her to show her sisterly pride.

big sister shirt.

The pink looks much hotter in the photo that it is in real life. I used the yudu metallic ink to screen the image onto the shirt. I have heard mixed reviews on the durability of the ink so I thought this would be a good test. It supposedly fades after several washes. But I guess almost everything does.

I have so many crafts that I have done for Halloween. It’s been a blast. I created mummy boxes, sour cream containers, test tubes - a bunch of really creepy and fun treats. Stay tuned. :)
