what to do, now you know this is the end.

I don’t know why but that song by the Specials, right off the Gross Pointe Blank soundtrack, was stuck in my head while I was creating one of the cards for the last Stamp Something challenge as a Design Team Member. The challenge was to create a Miss You or Farewell Something or you could case Emily. You can find her card here. This is my take on her card.

tulip card.

For the case, I changed the dry swiss dot embossing to a stamped image and played with the color scheme a bit. The tulips are from Papertrey Ink’s new set “Wishing You.” While I’m not totally crazy about the sentiment font in the set, I really enjoy the tulip images.

I would like to stop here and thank Denise and Erin for appointing me to their DT. It’s been a ton of fun. They announce the new DT today! Best wishes to the new DT. I will enjoy participating in the challenges every once in a while. Be sure to visit Stamp Something today to check out the new DT.

Wow! I’m so excited that it’s Friday. It’s a long weekend and Stamp Something is spotlighting Design Team Member Emily! Emily is such a talented stamper and a fabulous sketch artist!!! This week Emily has dazzled us with a simple sketch that is sure to inspire.

emily’s sketch.

I loved the simplicity of this sketch. You could interpret as it is or add a little layer love. Of course, I decided to stick with the simple and use the raw sketch. I’ve been blind to the fact that I’ve been stuck on the purple/green combo for a couple weeks now. Oops.

all star.

I am sending this card to one of my fabulous running buddies with a little surprise, which I will be finishing up this weekend. All my running friends are just so fabulous. I wish I could send them pretty things all the time! Maybe I can challenge myself to send more RAKs!

I hope everyone enjoys the long Memorial Day weekend. Don’t forget to visit the other DT samples. You only have one more week to soak in the current team. Have a great weekend!

clean and simple.

I guess you can say that that is my style. I’m pretty much that way about everything in life. My house is very contemporary with simple furniture and clean lines. I dress very simple. I run which is probably as simple a sport as you can get… :) This week I say good-bye to the Stamp Something Challenge Blog Design Team. The challenge is to create a clean and simple thank you.

cas thanks!

I have enjoyed being part of the team. Thank you Denise and Erin!!! It has been fun and I’m so happy you guys started the challenge blog. I will be around for two more weeks to participate in the final good-bye challenges.

Happy Friday everyone!!! I’m very excited that Friday is here. Stamp Something is honoring Melissa this week. The challenge is to create a pink birthday something. Melissa’s favorite color is pink so be sure to dazzle her with all shades of the color!

thinking of you.

Papertrey Ink’s Everday Classics set has been getting some mileage. The flower is really pretty.  I used a silver journaling pen to outline the card after because ribbon didn’t feel right but it looked to plain without something! I like the way it turned out.

I used Stampin Up! Cardstock for the base here. It’s definitely a lot thinner than PTI cardstock. The layers helped the feel of the card but it’s definitely strange to me how noticeable light the SU! cardstock feels after using PTI’s. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Be sure to visit the other design team members’ blogs for some awesome inspiration.

This month is the last month that I will be serving the Stamp Something Design Team. This week Cindy is in the spotlight. I have to say it was truly a pleasure to go through Cindy’s creations and pick one to case. She had so many great projects to choose from. I had a hard time deciding between three cards but finally chose the one below. It’s such a gorgeous card.

cindy’s original card.

In order to make this card my own, I changed the color palette and stamp set. Instead of making the scallop circle the part that opened, I made it a traditional card. Images are from the Papertrey Anniversary Set, Everday Classics.

The cupcake turned out even better than the original concept in my head. I love the aqua mist and pink together.
