fabulous friend gift set!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

I loved making this set. The card is one of my favorites. I enjoyed putting a homemade twist on the Nonna’s biscotti, which is much easier to send then homemade treats. The perishable factor doesn’t come into play. :) The color combination feels nice and earthy to me too. I made the set for a close friend who is going through a rough spot. I hope she enjoys it as much I did making it.

the set!

I used Papertrey Ink Friends Til the End and Text Style stamp sets for the card and the bag. Papertrey Ink Everyday Classics was used for the tea cup on the box, which I posted yesterday.

the card.

I loved how I didn’t have to think too much about the design. It just sort of flowed from one item to the next. I really enjoyed stamping the background for the biscotti bag. I used all the different sentiments from the Papertrey Ink Friends Til the End. I was so nervous to screw it up but it turned out just fine.

I have really taken to the linen vellum. It sat in my drawer for the longest time. Now, that I’ve put it to use I love it! Just like the Ripe Avocado color. It’s so rich! I’m also looking for recommendations on clear stamp companies. I am addicted to them and PTI (like you needed to be told that) but I just wanted to see what else is out there that you may love! Let me know.

This is the last baby shower favor I created. The paper has storks all over it. It was just too cute to pass up.  I am still working on some more svgs for my Cricut. It’s fun but it does cut into my actual crafting time. But it is saving me money. I can live with that. :)

I can’t wait until the weather warms up. I feel like I am so cold all the time right now. It’s hard to do anything but curl up under a blanket and stay warm. :)

Showers of Love

Another fun baby favor to share. Don’t worry…I’m almost done with sharing the baby shower ones I have created. This weekend flew by. I did find some time to scrap a layout over the weekend that I have to photograph. I only have one more layout to do in my 2007 book. I’m going to be onto 2008! WOOT!

shower favor.

I wanted to used gingham ribbon for this favor and it turned out to match ok. I thought the paper was super cute.

Spooky Discoveries!

I love Halloween. However, I don’t love the fact that the holiday basically scuttles in the holidays and the cold. I don’t do well with the cold. It’s only 63 days until Christmas too. WOW! I’m trying not to get to far ahead of myself. The paper for this sour cream container was part of a Martha Stewart Halloween paper pack. I thought the web was so fun!

spider treats!

The container is filled with candy corn. While searching on Martha Stewarts website for fun ideas for Christmas, I did come across some really fun ideas for Halloween too. These were so fun I had to share. I don’t really need to make anymore Halloween treats but these are just too cute and so simple to resist. You can find a video and the directions for these great treats here at the Martha’s website.

Another project finished!!! I did manage to decorate and crimp all my sour cream containers. They are all ready for sale. My Tea Tins filled with biscotti were finished up last night too. I will post those later. I managed to make some progress on my tealight tins and mummy boxes too. All this while watching the presidential debate. hehe.

sour cream christmas.

I really don’t want to hear about Joe the Plumber anymore. :) These sour cream containers are filled with peppermints. I am going to do some clear acetate ones thanks to inspiration from Rose Ann filled with Hershey Kisses.
