progress.

Some progress is better than no progress. While we wait for the Building Permit to come through, the lot has been cleared and the trees and stumped removed.

Lot with trees.

We have quite a bit of land so the clearing was only about half of the depth of the lot. This is really nice. We back up to a Town owned lot so there will be some additional privacy.

no trees!

We are a little closer to the neighbors on the left than I wanted to be. The houses will be about 75 feet apart. But the lot to our right is still undeveloped. If they do develop it, we wanted to leave more of a buffer on that side so that they didn’t build right on top on their left line. Not that I want neighbors right away. hehe.

lots of dirt, no stumps.

You can kind of see where the house is going to go in this picture. It’s piles of the dirt with the stakes shoved in them that are the “house box.”  I should be more excited but I’m not. The whole lack of permit thing is frustrating. The town says they’ve had layoffs and things that used to take two days are taking two weeks. I’m going to cross my fingers for a permit by next week. :)

pardon my dust.

I’m going to be deciding on a new theme for the blog. Hopefully I can find one that I like and that works. :) Stay tuned.

Happy New Years Eve!!

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

I don’t normally make New Years Resolutions. I like to resolute to do things any time of the year. LOL!!! However, I promised myself that I will make it back to bloggy self in 2010. I’ve done plenty of projects. I just have not been able to post. :(

I will be leaving in one week to run the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge down in Disney. For those of you who may be new, the Goofy is running the Walt Disney World Donald Half Marathon and the Walt Disney World Mickey Marathon on consecutive days for a total of 39.3 miles. We are running the Up and Away 5K on Friday too for a total of 42.4 miles over the weekend. Disney Sports was kind enough to tweet pictures of the medals we have the potential to snag for finishing. The anticipation is building!!!

Donald 1/2 Marathon Medal:

Mickey Marathon 2010 Medal:

The Goofy Medal is still under wraps. I can’t wait to see it!!!!!

Again, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas (albeit, belated) and a Happy New Year!!!

I am having trouble finding that running/crafting groove this summer. It’s hard for me to believe that it came so easy last summer. I am still trying to find the groove and the mojo.

It’s Week #5 of Goofy Training. I can’t believe that it’s just about 5 and a half months until Walt Disney World’s Marathon weekend. Amazing!

I will be keeping the comments off until I can find the groove to post and start visting everyone else’s fabulous work again. TTFN!

New Toy.

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Last week, I purchased a new trimmer to have one the is more portable than my monster Tonic Guillotine. I decided on the Making Memories Precision Cutter because I had a 50% coupon at Michael’s. The cutter ended up costing $25. I have to say that I am impressed with it. My DH is thankful because my head is no longer in his way of the TV when I have to line up a cut. :)

Blush for a Friend.

My new Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush materials had been sitting untouched so last night I busted them open. I have some of the Berry Sorbet - not really my style but I did use the ink here. I am still using up those Nana’s Nursery scraps.

Close-up!
